Visvesvaraya, Visweswaraiah, Vishweshwaraiah, however, "Visvesvaraya" also known as Sir MV; 15 September 1860 – 14 April 1962) was a pioneer Indian engineer of his times, a scholar and statesman rememberred as maker of modern Mysore during 1912 to 1919. He is also known as father of Indian Planing Programmes. Industrialise or Perish was a slogan coined by him, which was the basis of Indian Industrial Policy for Modern and Free India of 1950s
